Hello! My name is Nora - I’m a high school programming and physical computing teacher in Vermont, US. I read Lifelong Kindergarten a few years ago, and it has had a really profound effect on my approach to supporting students in learning CS. I wanted to be a part of this group so that I could learn from others who are just as excited about the prospect of creative learning - specifically in a high school CS setting.

My name is Richard Raney and I’m an Instructional Technology Specialist in Round Rock ISD in Austin, Texas. This is my first full year in this position, and I’ve previously taught 4th and 2nd grade.

I love sparking students’ curiousity and imagination, especially in our school’s STEAM lab. I hope to learn new ways to engage students and teachers in creative thinking and problem solving exercises.

Hello! I’m Beka, and I’m a programmer on the Google Blockly Project =)

I actually originally learned to program with Scratch, so I definitely believe in the creative learning approach! I can’t wait to learn about it more formally :D

Excited to learn with all of you!

Hello everyone! So wonderful to meet so many creatives from all around the world. My name is Anthony White. I am a high school teacher located in Kodiak, Alaska, a “small” island in the Gulf of Alaska accessible only by plane or boat. I currently teach Game Development (sometimes using Scratch), Web Development, Interactive Media, 3D Modeling and Animation, and any other course that comes my way that involves computers. I love creating and have been especially immersed in the world of Extended Reality (XR) and WebXR learning how to develop augmented and virtual reality experiences. This is my first go with LCL. Excited to learn and grow with you all!

Hello! My name is Elaine Atherton, and I’m joining from outside of Raleigh, North Carolina. I work with the Scratch Foundation, but in my downtime I enjoy reading, watching tv, and walking. I do a lot of walking! I’m really excited to start to visit with more educators (virtual and in-person) this year and learn even more about creative learning.
